The earth has been encircled with a cloud of green kryptonite dust, forcing Superboy and Supergirl to temporarily take leave of the Legion.
Two masked characters wearing lead armour take their places - Sir Prize and Miss Terious. By the end of the next issue we discover the new heroes are actually Star Boy and Dream Girl.

While this issue features what is technically the first appearance of Dream Girl's sister, the White Witch, in this issue she is knows as The Hag, and is one of the members of Prince Evillo's Devil's Dozen.
